James Melvin is a Registered Principal at Vine & Branch Capital specializing in helping clients make a variety of important decisions regarding their investments and retirement. For more than 30 years, James has been pursuing his passion for being his clients' most trusted advisor as he implements comprehensive retirement and investment plans tailored to the unique financial circumstances of each client.

James has completed the rigorous qualifications to carry the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^™ certification, and as a CFP^® professional, he helps clients analyze every aspect of his clients' financial situation.

Prior to joining Vine & Branch Capital, James worked for some well-respected financial institutions including, John Hancock Financial Services, A.G. Edwards & Sons, and Wells Fargo Advisors. He even operated his own wealth management practice, Gateway Capital Wealth Management, before joining forces with Bailey Bartee, Director of Vine & Branch Capital.

Outside the office, James enjoys spending time with his wife of 33 years, Janice, and their two cats, Oliver and Woodie. He and his wife both love animals, and they support the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society.
